We should standardise the metadata elements in conjunction with ABCD, SDD, etc. I hope that this may just mean that you can pick up an outer wrapper from those schemas.
Please note that the topic is already discussed as part of the UBIF proposal, currently under the SDD WIKI 
http://efgblade.cs.umb.edu/twiki/bin/view/SDD/SourceMetadata. However, perhaps the UBIF discussions should be moved to a separate WIKI?
